Open Win and Amateur Field Trial Champion title, July 1, 2005
‘PUSH’
is “one hell
of a dog” say all who know him. Push
came to live with us in February of
2002. His breeder is Melanie Foster and
we are very fortunate to have Push. Formal training began in March, and by July,
Push had made it through our basics program.
He then went out and earned three working titles between July
and
October. During this time he also earned
two CM’s in Junior at field trials.
Push has a great training attitude. At
trials he is exciting to watch, both on
land and in the water. He is a hard driving dog who constantly gives
100%
effort, (even when he makes a mistake!!) whether he is doing blinds or
marks. Push has it ‘all’.
Talent, correct structure, style, courage and
most importantly the temperament for which the Golden Retriever is
famous. He is
easy to live with, good with other dogs, and simply loves everyone. Push has a lot to offer the Golden
Retriever breed as a whole. Our hopes and dreams for this dog have
already been
achieved and he is still only 4 years of age!! What a feeling!!!
The following is a summary of Push’s career
to date:
2003
At his first field trial weekend of the
season, and while still a one year old dog, Push earned his first
all-age
points, became ‘Qualified All-Age’, earned the title ‘QFTR’ and
achieved the
honor of being invited to run both the National Open and National
Amateur events
for 2003. He did this by placing 3rd
in the AMATEUR at the Montreal Retriever Club field trial on May 17th. Push also placed 4th in the Junior stake the same day.
By the end of 2003 Push acquired 5 All-age
points towards his Amateur Field Trial Championship Title.
One of the major highlights of 2003 was
that Mike took Push to ?>Ohio to run
his first US
trials and
also to compete at the Golden National Specialty. As
Mike exclaimed upon his return………It was a
“hell of a week with a hell of a dog!” Push was entered in the
Open,
Amateur and Qualifying at the Buckeye trial on the Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday
preceding the National Specialty which he ran on the Monday, Tuesday
and
Wednesday in the same stakes. The end result was that he completed 23
of 24
series in the six days and finished with three Jams in the all age, a 3rd
in the qualifying at Buckeye and a big Blue ribbon by winning the 101
dog Qualifying at the National Specialty.

2004 turned out to be a
transition period
for Push. Although he did not earn
the
coveted Field Trial titles we were
hoping for, Push continued to wow folks with his natural talent,
courage,
attitude, style and of course, his good looks.
?>ML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />
This was Push’s year to mature and gain
trial experience. Push did qualify for
both the Canadian National Open and the Canadian National Amateur. 2004 ended with this 3 year old acquiring a
lot
of experience and some much needed all age training with the hope that
all
would come together for 2005. By the end
of 2004, he accumulated a total of 7
All-Age points.
