“Mac’s” talents include exceptional marking ability, impressive style, natural water courage, a high level of retrieving desire, birdiness, and a willingness to learn and be given direction. Mac has reached “Qualified All-Age” status in both the U.S. and Canada.
He needs a First Place win in the Open stake with Mike, in order to officially earn both his Field Trial Championship and Amateur Field Trial Championship titles. We would love to say he will earn them but, unfortunately Mac sustained a physical injury last year and has officially been retired from active competition. Mac remains part of the stud team here at “Ambertrail” and we are certainly thrilled with the puppies he has sired so far. His soundness, talents, good looks and charm are indeed assets to be considered for any Golden Retriever breeding program.
Mac is very happy in his retirement. He is getting the pats he enjoys, the pampering he deserves and all the love he can handle. Mac is living with our good friends Nick and Milvi Vlastaris, who are just a short walk across the road from us. Both Nick and Milvi cannot get over how affectionate and bright Mac is. He apparently gets quite excited when their telephone rings these days, as he believes it means he will be coming here for some female company. I would say, Mac indeed remains, quite the clever boy!
